FOREWORD
By publishing this book “Health for all, Homoeopathy for happy & healthy life’’ Dr. S.S. Vithal has done yeoman’s service to Homoeopathy and humanity at large.
I know him, Dr.Vithal is as ardent follower and voracious propagator of this beautiful artistic science of Homeopathy. His ardency is highlighted in this  book specially as he goes on courageously and uninhibitedly educating the masses as well as young and old wrong physicians about ‘what is wrong and what is right about Homeopathy & homoeopathic practice.’ By emphasizing on my hypothesis of ‘How homoeopathic medicine function inside the body’ and chart of seven layers of suppression and progress of disease; he has amply demonstrated his scientific pedestal. What is more encouraging is the fact the despite the progressive scientific out look he has maintained a firm contact with the base or mother earth by remembering the pioneers of medicine like Hippocrates and Paracelsus. By drawing parallels from the sacred bible and Bhagwat, he has amply demonstrated the holistic nature of this scientific science called homoeopathy.
I wish him all the success in this endeavor.

HEALTH FOR ALL,
HOMOEOPATHY FOR HAPPY AND HEALTHY LIFE

Homoeopathy is a distinct system of medicine based upon Nature’s law of cure (LAW OF SIMILARS) Similia Similibus Curenture (likes are cured by likes ) with a vitalistic, wholistic, individualistic approach to persons in health, disease and its cure; using the dynamic properties of drugs specially prepared to release their potencies single at a time even in minimum doses.
WHAT IS LAW OF SIMILARS
This law states that a disease is cured by an agent /a drug substance in nature, which has the capacity to produce a similar state when administered to a healthy human being I i.e a new disease produced by medicine can remove a pre-existing natural disease if their manifestations are similar.
HISTORY OF LAW OF SIMILARS:
Today when pharmacology is well established science the concept of law of Similars; setting a disease against a disease to cure disease may sound ridiculous but history make this concept valid. This concept of treating with similars is very ancient and has been believed for many long years. However it was Dr. Hahnemann the master of vintage, who successfully outlined this system of therapeutics.
In the very ancient Indian text BHAGVAT-PURANA (about 4500 B.C.) it is written as under :-

vke;s ;’p Hkwruke~ vk;rs g;sr lqczrA
        rnso gh vk;e æO;e~ UiqU;fr fpfdRlde~AA
        ; ,oa u‘.kk fdz;k ;¨xk% losZ lal‘fr gsrso%A
        Rk ,o ,oe~ fouk’kk; dyiUrs dfyirk% ijsAA

MEANS: A disease is produced in the organism by a drug, is cured by same drug itself. Is it not? Like the mind that is the cause of worldy fetters is in itself the agent for release for such felters by self immolation. In Ayurveda it is clearly mentioned

^Lke% lea ’ke;fr*
Means likes are cured by likes.
o‘)h lekus lZos"kkA
                foikfjr© foi;Z;S%AA

TRANSLATED MEANS:- Contrary principles results in complications, whereas similia principle is always helpful.

In Holy Bible one comes across the Mekilta stating that whereas the man heals with contrary remedies, God heals with similars. Come and see the healing of Holy one, blessed be He, is not like the healing of man. Man doesn’t heal with the same thing with which he wounds, but he wounds with a knife and heals with plaster. The Holy one blessed be He, however is not so, let HE heals with the very thing which he smites.”

HIPPOCRATES:- It is interesting to see how Hippocrates-the father of medicines has mentioned  this law of similars. In the chapter 1 of the book ‘Peritopon ton Kat antriopari-Codex of the words of Hippocrates, Magni Hippokratis Coiopera Omnia’ he writes ‘Through the likes the disease is produced and through the application of the like it is cured. The disease is produced by influences which act similar to healing process and disease condition is removed through remedies which produce similar symptoms to the disease. The disease is induced through influences of similar as remedies and disease is eliminated though remedies able to produce the similar symptoms.
PARACELSUS:-(1493-1541) In the 16th century i.e. very origin of modern medicines Paracelsus put forth the Law of similars in the following way ‘When similar is to put to similar and used and applied with intelligence the nature is served well, as arsenic cureth arsenic, Anthrax cure Anthrax, poison cure poison, thus similar anatomy cureth a similar one.
We also find this Law of similars being advocated in the writings of Aristotle(384-322), Stahle of  Denmark (1660-1734) Theury, Haller of Swiss(1708-1777) and others.

DISCOVERY OF LAW OF SIMILARS
While translating Cullen’s Materia Medica form English to German, Dr. C.F.S Hahnemann came across a statement made by Cullen that Cinchona bark cured cases of Malaria because of its bitterness. This stuck to this genius mind, that there are number of other bitter substances, all of them are not curing Malaria. To confirm this he took himself Cinchona and amazed to find that be got the symptoms of Malaria fever. He then proceeded to experiment various other substances on himself, his family members, friends and well wishers. Finally he came to the conclusion through systematic analysis of data of drug & disease, ‘Drugs cure by virtues of their capacity to induce changes that are similar to those brought about the disease.

In 1796, Dr. Hahnemann put forth this Law as under:-
A weaker dynamic affection is permanently extinguished in living organism by a stronger one, if the later is very similar to former in its manifestation. The curative power of medicines depend on their symptoms similar to the disease but superior to its strength , so that each individual case of disease is most  surely, radically, rapidly and permanently annihilated and removed only by a medicine capable of producing in most similar and complete manner, the totality of symptoms which are stronger than the disease.
APPLICATION OF LAW OF SIMILARS
This principle is applied knowingly or unknowingly in different systems of therapeutics and allied sciences. Before understanding the application of law of similars however one has to take into consideration ‘biphase’ action of drug (medicinal substance) i.e. Primary action of this substance on human body i.e. homeostasis or vital force. And Secondary action of body which is the reaction to the Primary action. To elaborate in cold weather if we take bath with warm water it is soothing to the body because of Primary action and when we come out of the bathroom we find more chill than before because of secondary action or reaction of body or vital force. Where as if in winter we take bath with cold water it will be troublesome for a while but after that we feel automatic heat of body which will be permanent & soothing. Since action and reaction are equal and opposite.
Not only in homoeopathy but other therapies are also using this law of similars with good results i.e. Physiotherapy, Psychotherapy, Psychiatry, Acupuncture, Vaccination and modern medicine too.

SOME MISCONCEPTIONS:

There are certain misconceptions in the minds of people at large and to certain doctors too, that homoeopathic medicine does not do any bad effect (side effect) if not good. It is not true. As we all know homoeopathic medicines are dynamic in nature, it acts in dynamic plane of body. Yes like other medicines it doesn’t have immediate anaphylactic reaction or shock but continuous use of these medicines (without doctor’s advice) can change the vitality to negative end. Homoeopathic medicines act in reaction not in action. Under action there is aggravation which is temporary & soothing. Under reaction there is cure. There is no substance on this earth (especially medicine) which doest have bad effect or good effect. If there is no action how can be a reaction. So do not believe this saying  that Homoeopathic medicines doest affect adversely.’
One more misbelieve in the minds of our society is “Homoeopathic medicine’s action is very slow”. It is not true. These are the fastest acting drugs if prescribed correctly, may it be in acute emergency or chronic illness. If the patient visits the physician at very later stage of illness and expect immediate cure, how can it be possible. Yes, in acute ailment the relief is obtained quickly.

POINTS TO REMEMBER:- Have you (patient) been thoroughly probed by homoeopathic physician (Mentals, generals & physicals) especially in chronic illness? Know the homoeopathic parameters which can be opposite to others parameters. Since in homoeopathy we treat the Man in disease not the disease in man .So there should be improvement in generals first i.e (1) desire to work (2) stamina to work (3) desire to eat & drink (4) sleep must improve not followed by tiredness 5) betterment in excretions like urine ,stool , perspiration etc.
Look for the above mentioned signs rather than seeking improvement in headache, temperature, cold cough, BP etc. Slight improvement in desire to work, stamina, appetite can be the most dependable sign of patient’s proceeding toward cure or recovery than the pathological reports of Hb increasing, WBC normal , normal X-rays and other findings etc. All the above mentioned values of blood or urine or x-ray etc will follow automatically.
MUST EXPLAIN YOUR DOCTOR
Patients suffering from chronic diseases must tell your homoeopathic physician about the disease/diseases in detail. i.e Nature of pain, aggravating/ameliorating factors, ‘timings, seasons etc. since how long you are suffering from this disease and sequence of past illnesses if remember.
Past history of illness, family history (i.e. maternal & paternal side)of disease, your personal history i.e. desires aversions, sleep, dreams, urination, stool, appetite, thirst etc, thermal reaction i.e. tolerance of heat & cold, your nature (mental & general) in detail. For lady patients menstrual symptoms, gynecological & obstratics history are also sometimes needed.
In homoeopathy there is no disease as such which can’t be treated because we treat the diseased man as a whole, not its parts. So do not hide any point related to you or your illness. Or tell in exaggerated form.

ADVICE TO PATIENTS TAKING
                                                HOMOEOPATHIC TREATMENT

There is no prohibition or precaution along with homoeopathic medication as such like use of onion, garlic, scented things etc. As a patient you are allowed to eat or drink anything including things which aggravate your symptoms like ice cream, banana, sour/spicy things etc. the homoeopathic medicines try to immunize you against such allergic factors.

You are allowed to take normal diet which you usually take or desire to take. Because normal diet helps to increase the energy within you to fight the illness and recover without weakness.,

You are allowed to work or do duties if have desire/interest to do so.
Do not expect or accept any special formulations like tonics. Cough syrups, sex tonics, ointments, eye or ear drops. Hair oils, shampoos etc from a homoeopathic physician as these are non-homoeopathic in true sense though labeled as homoeopathic.
Don’t use anything which contains MINT (menthol) or anything which contains such intergradient which in anyway anaesthises the faucets or laryngeal cells benumbing the fighting properties or stop the natural cough reflux, sneezing etc. they work against the homoeopathic action of increasing the immunity to cure.
Hard drinks like wine, coffee etc; may also hamper cure in same way.
Local application not only of menthol or xylocain, balm, ointments etc; but anything may be herbal or homoeopathic is not advisable as this cause obstacle to recovery. These products may alter the electro-potential gradient at cellular level thereby obstructing the excretory system from excreting toxins on skin. Only exception may be toothpastes. Since almost all toothpastes contains menthol and for years together. We all are habitual to its use. Our homeostasis has already accepted it as food and established since childhood.
In the present era of specialization & super specialization most of the people think that my eyes are being treated by  Dr. A …(eye spl. ) for ears I am getting treatment from Dr. X….(ENT Spl. ), one orthopedic surgeon is treating my slip disc (Backache) and so on. You as homoeopath kindly treat my skin problem/warts etc. since everybody says homoeopathy is better for skin diseases. This is a misbelieve in their minds. As told above in homoeopathy we are to treat diseased person as a whole not in parts. We remove the root cause of the disease. The various part of the body may be eyes, bones. Heart or kidney; everything is rightly settled.

IDEAL CURE- Now the question arises what is an ‘idle cure’ . There are following certain criteria to be followed if one wants to judge whether he/she is in safe hands.

  1. the proof of ‘idle cure’ or Right prescription” is , after a minimum dose, similimum stimulus following changes could occur.
        1. feeling of well being in general
        2. disappearance of weakness (if any)
        3. desire to work
        4. Restoration of original desire & stamina
        5. Normal sleep, feeling fresh after sleep.
        6. Improvement in appetite and stool.
        7. Increased tolerance to aggravation factors like sun, wind, cold, food, drinks etc.
        8. Reduction in fears and anxieties, rudeness and anger etc.
  2. Disappearance of symptoms according to ‘Nature’s way or Herrings’ Law of Cure. This is scientifically explained in the chart shown on page 13 if the symptoms disappear according to this chart (Dr. Vijaykar’s Chart) above downwards in all cases of acute or chronic problem then & only can say a homoeopathic doctor is a genuine prescriber.

SOME GOLDEN RULES FOR KEEPING HEALTHY

  1. Always be happy and live tension free life.
  2. For sedentary workers, 40 to 60 minutes morning walk (before sunrise) daily is as compulsory as air & water. Proper yoga exercise under expert guidance is equally benefited.
  3. Eat wholesome food (preferably vegetarian) timely, not hurriedly.
  4. Do not take any kind of addictive substances like:-

Alcohol, tobacco in any form e.g. Cigarettes, Bidi, Churat, chutki, Talab, Khaini etc. Drugs smack etc. if you are already dependant on it and want to escape, consult your physician.

  1. Avoid self medication; do not take any medicine without consulting your physician.

HOW HOMOEOPATHIC MEDICINE
                             FUNCTION INSIDE THE HUMAN BODY

…………………A Scientific explanation
For those who want to know about the scientific aspect of this holistic science, I am elaborating the following hypothesis of Dr.Vijaykar, mentioned in one of the magazines of I.I.H.P (Bombay).

Homoeopathic medicines are nothing but the chemical imaging of the drug substance on the vehicle (Milk sugar, sugar, Alcohol or water) which will be better explained by Photochemistry, which is different of each medicinal substance in different potencies.

I

n order to understand how homoeopathy functions inside the human body one had to have some basic knowledge of physiology , embryology, immunology, genetics etc.

  1. Human being is an organized multicellular animal, All cells are interconnected, interrelated and interdependent to form tissues and organs.
  2. Cell is the basic living unit of the body. The location of each cell is such that to and fro diffusion of substances is established.
  3. Basic cell structure is the same for all tissues cells.
  4. All cells tissues and organs are connected by multitude of feedback systems which are balanced by what is called as HOMEOSTASIS.
  5. All cells give and take nutrients like fats, proteins, carbohydrates, oxygen, nitrogen, calcium, sodium, potassium etc. and have an electrical potential  which is so adjusted as to form a potential gradient so that these substances can be transported to and fro.
  6. Transport for all natural nutrients is generally passive and does not consume energy. Transport of certain nitrogenous compound i.e. toxins is active and involves consumption of energy which comes from ATP in mitochondria. This explains the weakness in a human being when toxins are being transported from cell especially in an illness.

EMBRYOLOGY
It amply demonstrates the existence of following growth axis gradients.

  1. Axis of apical dominance.
  2. Cranio-caudal growth axis.
  3. Dorso-ventral  growth axis.
  4. Proximo-distral growth axis.

If growth takes place along these morphogenetic fields and axis, there is bound to exist a life living , life sustaining nutrient gradient, along this axis .As against this, the degradation of immune system ultimately results in death so that there is bound to exist a toxic gradient, which has to be exactly opposite in action and direction. Hence disease shall appear in a being in the following order.

  1. Outside inwards i.e. from ectodermal skin to endodermal membranes of respiratory, genitor-urinary and gastro-intestinal tracts.
  2. Skin to deeper system indicating from less important to more important organs.
  3. Disto-proximally i.e. from periphery to centre.
  4. Caudo-cranially i.e. from down to upwards.

IMMUNOLOGY
Human being is kept free from diseases by the immune system. Hence any impairment of the same causes disease.
Disease means impaired immunity is what every homeopath has to understand and the conventional concept of disease i.e. infection or disturbed function of organ or system or degradation of any system only follows the disturbance of any system only follows the disturbance in immunity.
Immunity to man is given by multiple factors e.g.

  1. Skin
  2. Mucous membrane
  3. Lysozomes
  4. Immuno globulins
  5. T & B lymphocyts
  6. Compliment factors –C-1, C-2
  7. Interferons & Interleukins.

A balance or homoeostasis of all these is required to keep a man healthy. Essentially what is called in homoeopathy terms as VITAL FORCE is the immunity or resistance.
Reestablished of disturbed nutrient gradient subsequently balancing the disturbed immune system is what homoeopaths call a cure.

ACTIONS OF HOMOEOPATHIC MEDICINES

  1. When a pillute is kept on the tongue, the molecular impression (chemical imaging) of the drug being on the glucose or alcohol, because of different hydrogen or carbon bonding (different at different potencies) stimulates the nucleus of the cell in contact.
  2. The messenger RNA of “x” of stimulated cell get depressed producing “x” in the cell which ultimately diffuses to neighboring cell to produce antiviral proteins (AVP) like Beta-2 micro-globulin,(antibodies) etc.
  3. The AVP bring about
    1. Immuno-modultion ,i.e. stimulation or depression of the local immune system.
    2. Activating the toxic gradient out of the local system.
    3. Thus causing amelioration in parts where the AVP is diffused.
  4.  The “X” molecules are of three types , two of which have local receptors in local cells (these are probably produced by non-similimum stimulation). Hence action is found only in local part, organ or system. The partially similar homoeopathy medicines, the specifies, the organopathic remedies or the ones prescribed on PQRS  particulars, only induce such results.

The disadvantage of this type of treatments are:

  1. Toxic gradient is pushed upwards from less important to more important system or organ, causing suppression and new disease in higher planes of embryology since the toxins impair immunity at that plane.
  2. Since toxic gradient ascends with active transport. Weakness follows, and there is no sense of well being.

Action of “X” molecules of third type produced by stimulated cell{these are produced by genetically constitutionally similimum (G.C.S)} are general and systematic in action. Their receptors are found in brain cells and can initiate a multitude of actions in brain and in spinal cells, down o organs of mesoderm, down to the connective tissues and ultimately to endoderm & ectoderm.
(As Shown on Page 13;Dr.Vijaykar’s Chart)
Hence the action is simultaneous at various levels to put the patient back to health. And this is what we call the action of homoeopathic similimum with “SINGLE REMEDY, MINIMUM DOSE”. So homoeopathic remedies are Immuno-modulators not Immunosuppressant.

Now a question arises how people claim to cure or have permanent results in so called incurable cases with polypharmacy or specific formulations, Qs or antipathic drugs.
The explanation of this question is:

  1. The specifics/Q/antipathic/ drugs may have remove symptoms from that particular part to some more deeper plane i.e. mesodermal layer which gone un-noticed i.e. backache, cervical spondalysis transferred to Hypertension to Diabetes or thyroid problems.
  2. Even if it is noticed it is related to hereditary factors or due to stress strain cause.
  3. The disease which have gone   from muscle/bone get compensated at dermis, in the form of alopecia or vitiligo. This occurs with partial similar medicines.
  4. If the pain has really disappeared without any other symptom developing, it may have accidentally cured the patient. In such case of the many drugs from the mixtures/ specifics given to patient accidentally may be the right similimum.
  5. One more possibility is that the acute inflationary process being removed by a local action of that specific, the Homoeostasis or vital force re-established the balance to give automatic cure.

This occurs  in allopathic treatment also.

SO ONE CANNOT SAY THAT ALL OTHER SYSTEMS OR
                        NON-HOMOEOPATHIC TREATMENT ALWAYS SUPPRESS
                                                                                                            --AUDE SAPRE
